Our school district has been referred to as a public school in a private school setting.  Ferndale Area is proud of our academic accomplishments, our dedication to the personal growth of students, and the standard of excellence we maintain in professional practice. • • The Pittsburgh Business Times has named Ferndale Area School District a 2015 “Overachiever” in PA among state public schools. FASD is ranked 24th (up 18 spots from 2014).

  • 2014 PDE Special Education Audit - FASD 100% compliant. Comprehensive Plan 2014-2017 PDE approved.

  • Ferndale Area High School was awarded a bronze medal for student achievement in 2007-2008, 2008-2009, and 2011-2012, 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018 from US News and World Report’s list of America’s best high schools.
