The official results are in and The Ferndale Area Junior/Senior High School has made Adequately Yearly Progress (AYP) for 2011 school year.
Congratulations and thank you to each and every student. The hard work and dedication to making improvement really paid off and it showed.
The Mathematics AYP performance goal was 67% and our students earned 70.6%. The Reading AYP performance goal was 72% and our students met the goal with a 67.6% performance level and using a calculation called “Confidence Interval.” (Confidence Interval takes into account a variation of student scores across years by promoting schools that come very close to achieving the performance goal) These percentages reflect the determination of all students within the Ferndale Area School District. In spite of escalating requirements, student dedication to achieve has allowed them to once again reach AYP. Keep up the good work.
