FASD has been able to dodge having positive Covid-19 cases for a long time.
However, a student and a teacher, both from the JrSrHS, have now tested positive for Covid-19. I am providing details so you receive the correct information.
The student had already been quarantined since early November. The teacher had not been in the district since last Thursday. The district has worked with the PA Department of Health to follow up on both cases and we are heeding the instructions of the DOH nurses and contact tracers. The PA DOH reported that neither are a risk to other students or staff in the building and no quarantining of others is necessary. For both the student and the teacher, their positive cases are not attached to the school building or daily in-person education. This is good news.
We do have other teachers, staff, and students who are quarantining because a member of their family tested positive. These are called contacts of contacts by the PA DOH. These people are not Covid positive, but must remain on quarantine out of an abundance of caution.
Our parents have done a great job monitoring their children. The PA DOH officially complemented you today!
Use you Covid-19 Symptom Daily Screening Tool. It is attached if you need another one.
If you have any questions about whether you should send your child to school, keep them home and call our school nurse, Judy Virgin in either office.
