COVID-19 Safety

R.E.A.C.H. Counseling Services is committed to the health and safety of you and your family and complies with all COVID-19 safety guidelines. We offer telehealth counseling services (video and phone sessions), face to face services (with safety measures in place), and as needed home visits.

Individual Clinical Counseling Services

  • Offered for Elementary, Junior, and Senior High School students

Individual Counseling services can begin with a student, parent, or SAP referral. The counseling process will begin with signed Consent for Treatment followed by an intake with a parent/guardian. An intake is to gather information and determine if school-based counseling services will best meet the student’s needs.

Individual treatment plans and crisis prevention plans will be created collaboratively to guide the treatment goals of counseling. Clinicians use evidence-based interventions for all aspects of the counseling process.

Sessions can take place during the school day or after school hours through in-person sessions or telehealth (phone or video) sessions.

Our Master’s level clinicians will work collaboratively with school and community resources with student/parent/guardian consent. Services may include linking individuals and their families with additional information, resources, and home visits for support to create the best opportunities for success.

Group Counseling Services

Small group counseling sessions will be held throughout the school year and run in approximately 6 week cycles. Small groups allow students the opportunity to connect with peers who experience similar needs and learn from each other's strengths. Groups may be therapeutic or skill building groups, the focus of the group will be clearly explained prior to the start of a group.

Behavioral Counseling Services

  • For Elementary Students

Individual or Small Group skill-building instruction

This is a non-clinical skill-building instructional program overseen by Master’s level clinicians. Elementary students will learn from evidenced based interventions based and work toward individualized treatment goals; delivered from a Bachelor’s level counselor. Some examples of target behavior goals may include: anger management, self-esteem, communication, self-control, compliance with rules/expectations.

Sessions will take place during the school day. Parent/guardian involvement will be strongly encouraged from the initial intake throughout progress toward treatment goals.

Crisis Intervention

In the event of a student’s school-based mental health crisis, R.E.A.C.H. counselors may be utilized in addition to existing crisis intervention procedures. R.E.A.C.H. counselors can begin de-escalation strategies, assessments, and safety planning. Partnering with the district allows for a prompt response to all crisis needs and allows for support to the student and family through the entire process.

Current crisis certifications: ASSIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), and CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management). All Master’s level clinicians have been trained in these interventions that equip us to manage critical events and assess/intervene with suicidality.
