iPad Troubleshooting

Something not working right on your iPad? You are in the right place! Most issues are fixed with a restart or app re-installation, but we will call out a few common issues and the steps to fix them! Please read through and attempt these before contacting the tech help desk.

My iPad Won't Charge!

This is usually just a bug that appears if an iPad hasn't been restarted in a while! Be sure that you have all of your important work saved, then perform a Hard Restart on the iPad by Holding down the Power + Home Buttons until the device restarts. If that worked, you will probably see the battery percentage jump up significantly and you are good to go! If the issue persists, your Charger or iPad Case might not be working right anymore. Please send us an email using the "Contact Tech Support" button on the right side of this web page and we will help you out!

My Keyboard Isn't Working...

This is usually fixed in a few easy steps!

  1. Disconnect your keyboard from the iPad case
  2. Perform a Hard Restart on the iPad by Holding down the Power + Home Buttons until the device restarts
  3. Unlock your iPad with your PIN
  4. Re-attach the keyboard

If your keyboard still doesn't work, or if only certain keys work, please send us an email using the "Contact Tech Support" button on the right side of this web page and we will help you out!

Microsoft Word Won't Let Me Sign In or Save?

This one can be a bit tricky, but if the first solution doesn't work, the second one will!

First Solution

These steps are needed if Word refuses to accept your login information, even if you know it is right

  1. Go to the Settings app on the iPad
  2. Scroll down to the bottom on the left side and look for Word and select it
  3. On the right side there should be an option that says “Reset Word”
  4. In the next window, have them select the “Delete Sign-In Credentials” option
  5. Open Word again, enter your Student Email Address and Usual Password
  6. You should be good to go!

Second Solution

This set of steps is needed if you see a message relating to one drive or lack of permissions/inability to save your documents

  1. Go to the Settings app on the iPad
  2. Scroll down to the bottom on the left side and look for Word and select it
  3. On the right side there should be an option that says “Reset Word”
  4. In the next window, have them select the “Delete Sign-In Credentials” option
  5. On the iPad Home Screen, Delete the Microsoft Word App from the iPad by holding down on it until all of the icons jiggle, then hit the "X" on the icon
  6. Redownload the Word app from the FASD App Store
  7. Open Word again, enter your Student Email Address and Usual Password
  8. You should be good to go!
